DC Wildflower Public Charter School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, creed, religion, sex or gender, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, status with regard to public assistance, or in any other way based on personal identity markers that do not relate to the capacity of an individual person to carry out the responsibilities of a role. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.

Salary Structure at DC Wildflower schools

DC Wildflower has a practice of independent salary setting. When jobs are posted they will include a pay range based on a determination of the job grade.  Every new employee is required to consider the following as they choose a starting point within their range:

  • Years of experience

  • Required or optional education credentials

  • Required or optional professional licensure or certification

  • Comparable salary ranges in local districts and shared via compensation studies

DC Wildflower has four student-facing educator roles.

  • Assistants/Aides, who primarily work with direction from a lead teacher – whether that is a Teacher Leader or Special Educator

  • Associates, who are expected to take more independent responsibility for an area

  • Teachers, who work in collaboration with others but have accountability for a cohort of students

  • Teacher Leaders, who have administrative leadership accountability for their micro-school
